Hello,
I’m Mike De Bastiani, a UX-focused Product Designer based in Switzerland. I enjoy working on complex problems and shaping them into clear, buildable solutions.
Currently studying Digital Ideation at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, my work is driven by an interest in how products are shaped by constraints, user needs, and team decisions. I work best in structured, collaborative environments where problems are explored thoughtfully and solutions are built with care.

How I approach projects and what it's like to work with me in a team.
I like to approach projects with structure from the very beginning. Clarifying goals, responsibilities, and milestones early on helps create momentum and ensures that enough time is spent on the phases that truly matter. A clear plan provides orientation without limiting flexibility later in the process.
I strongly value working in teams and believe that well-structured collaboration leads to better outcomes than isolated work. Regular check-ins and open discussions help maintain a shared understanding of the project as a whole and allow teams to adjust direction before small issues turn into larger problems.
In challenging situations, I try to stay pragmatic and solution-oriented. I’m motivated by constructive feedback, visible progress, and a positive team dynamic, and I contribute best in environments where communication is open, commitment is shared, and efficiency is taken seriously.
What do I bring to a project and what tools do I use to deliver?
I bring analytical thinking, structured planning, and hands-on design skills to projects, paired with clear communication. I’m comfortable presenting work, explaining rationale, and making decisions easy to follow. I also learn new tools and workflows quickly and enjoy expanding my skillset through hands-on projects. A basic understanding of front-end development supports smooth collaboration with engineers.
